This book goes both ways: You’ll either hate it or love it I actually initially wanted to buy this book because I have been doing shadow work for a while now with no proper direction whatsoever, so when I stumbled on the concept of gene keys, I expected that knowing a person’s overall hologenetic profile could help with overcoming some blocks in a person’s quest for attaining quality life. I also took some time to look at the Gene Keys website to find out more, and I tried analyzing my own profile (both the human design which is from the Human Design site and the hologenetic profile generated in the Gene Keys website). I guess even with a bit of information I was able to deduce how to face my own shadows and transmute them in some way.Now here is the part where many people might disagree with me because this book has changed their lives profoundly.I feel like the book is too contemplative and is from only one particular viewpoint. Not sure why I didn’t get much excitement as I did when I was delving into the website, and those where only a few sentences each. I was expecting to be a lot more energized when reading this book because there was a whole lot more information. But as I started reading, I guess I got affected in a way that I just can’t put my finger on. Also, to be honest, the only thing in the book are the Gene Keys, which are of course quite important because it IS about the gene keys, and they’re basically the cellular I-ching, but everything else that I was expecting to find were not there. Maybe that’s how the creator of the work wanted it (because there are other books in the series), or maybe I can only resonate with the lessons up to a certain point. Or maybe both? Not sure.For fairness’ sake I tried reading random gene keys not in my chart and some from my own hologenetic chart. As I post this, how I feel about the book is still the same. Some things are omitted, some are missing, but at this point everything resonates with me so far. But yeah, some huge chunks are missing and I guess it’s a bit of a turn-off for me, or maybe I wasn’t informed that this book was ONLY about the gene keys, and for other options I could read the additional information on the website, or I could go enrol in the advanced online courses, or I go transmute my shadows on my own based on what my intuition tells me to.Maybe I was putting too much hope in this book, or I just had high expectations. Or maybe now is not the right time for me to read this book. At any rate, I’m just voicing out my opinions so if you feel that your life changed because of this book, then good for you. I might come back to this book after a year, and maybe edit this review but for the moment, nay for me.The Art of Journeying with this Delightful, Exquisite Book This book is one of the greatest gift you can give yourself. It will make sense of your life, and it allows you to contemplate it with your heart. Give yourself an additional treat and actually buy the first activation sequence, it's worth every cent, it will make this journey much easier.I have been searching, experiencing and expanding on many different paths in the last 40 years. East and West, yoga, meditation, holistic healing, shamanism, plant medicine, and so on. I gained a better understanding, more compassion, more inner peace, more joy of life.A few months ago I found the Gene Keys, got curious, and start journeying with it. It is totally amazing, beautiful, and absolutely rewarding how this book and the 33 steps have become a true treasure grove for me. I got the Kindle edition, which is easier for my eyes.This is the ultimate adventurous book. It's not a book for reading and putting it back in the shelf. It's a book to go back and forth, put it to the side, contemplate, read it again, forget it, read something else, come back to it, reread it, contemplate, discover things you have not grasped the first few times, on and on. It has become a very delightful journey.One of my favorites is that the author points out again and again if if you read this book with the mind, it's more and more confusing. This book can ultimately only be understood by the heart. The other favorite is to be reminded over and over, every Shadow, every adversity, every pain has a seed in itself called the Gift. This seed will always open up if we just pay attention and be with it.The real adventure and promise of the Gene Keys is to live life fully and through the heart.Clearly Tapped into Fundamental Reality Have read a lot of books (and bought a lot more) in a long life...and have never encountered one like this. Truthfully, I have barely scratched the surface of what it offers but it is such a fount for grokking Life, that I am always rewarded when I dip in. When I read its words, they call me to fully be who I came here to be.This has profound DEPTH...opening channels with the heart of Creation. What more might we ask? Believe the fact that I have given away 4 copies of this in the six months since I encountered it speaks of how highly I value it...
